Inventory
Unit hold
A temporary reservation of a unit for a buyer, usually 24 to 72 hours, while they arrange the token or booking amount.
Also called: block, soft block, reservation
A hold reserves a unit for a named buyer for a limited time. It prevents another rep from selling the unit while the buyer arranges money or consults family.
Holds need three rules: a maximum duration, an approval for extensions, and automatic release when the hold expires. Without them, popular units sit on informal holds for weeks.
TipReport holds by rep each week. A rep with many expired holds and few bookings is using holds to keep inventory from colleagues.
