RERA-registered agent

A broker or channel partner registered with the state RERA authority under Section 9. Developers should work only with registered agents for RERA projects.

Section 9 of the RERA Act requires real estate agents to register with the state authority before they facilitate the sale of a plot, apartment or building in a registered project. The authority issues an agent registration number.

Developers should record each channel partner's RERA agent number in the CRM and check validity before paying brokerage. Some state authorities have penalised promoters for dealing with unregistered agents.
